Simar Malhotra

Co - founder, Planning & Execution Head (2014) - Currently studying at Stanford University

Simar Malhotra who is also an environmental specialist, plans and executes strategies to spread awareness, has a keen penchant for social causes. Her boundless energy and managerial skills make her an excellent leader. She is a take-charge person, a rare combination of a thinker, talker and doer. A cogent writer, Simar not only communicates with her ideas but also generates them. Her penultimate aim is to work in the public sector for the welfare of the society, generate ecological consciousness and pursue her passion for writing.

Ishan Malhotra

Co - founder (2014)

8th grader Ishan is a computer genius and co-founder of Parvaah. The youngest team member of Parvaah pronounces to spread awareness amongst his school and hostel mates and thus increasing the volunteer network of Parvaah. The aura of commitment that he carries around him and his penchant for social causes makes him take quick actions.

Samaira Mohunta

President - Delhi Chapter (2022 - 2023)

Hi, I’m Samaira Mohunta, an 11th grader at The Shri Ram School, Moulsari. I’ve always been told that I don’t drink enough water. That I drink water far from what the required amount is. However, I’ve never had to drink unhygienic water.

When I came to know that my maali bhaiya’s children go to a school that doesn’t even have the facilities to provide safe and clean water to its children, everything that I had been told about the importance of drinking clean water (and well, enough water) flooded my head. I knew I had to do something. This is why my cousin, Kavin, and I started Project Neer - to supply under-resourced schools with the most basic and most important facility that is often taken for granted: clean drinking water.

Shreya Chauhan

President (2021 - 2022)

Hi! I'm Shreya Chauhan, one of Parvaah's Presidents for 22' to 23'. After delving into a plethora of different interests and exploring them further, I've realised that my true passion lies in outreach to others, and helping the underprivileged members of our community who do not have adequate or even sufficient opportunities. Through the medium of Parvaah, which is something which I hold so dearly and closely to my heart, having seen our NGO prosper and grow due to the determination of past presidents and volunteers, I aim to give back to our community with regards to their contemporary and immediate needs. Growing from an unassuming volunteer to one of Parvaah's office bearers - the journey has truly been one of a kind and I wouldn't have had it any other way!

Rohan Patel

Project Boond (2021 - 2022)

In the Parvaah: Project Boond initiative of 2022, I was assigned the role of Head of Volunteers. My role comprised of garnering volunteer sign-up applications, filtering the applications to create a team that (my partner and) I felt was appropriate for the project, organizing the volunteers onto a common platform for updates (we found that a WhatsApp group would be most ideal for quick communication), instructing them to and ensuring that they raised the target amount of money in our fundraiser for the project, and finally, assigning them duties and overlooking those duties on the final day in order for a smooth project launch event.

Project Boond (2021 - 2022)

In the Parvaah: Project Boond initiative of 2022, I was assigned the role of Head of Sponsorship. My role comprised garnering volunteers to sign up and ensuring that they raised the target amount of money in our fundraiser for the project, reaching out to companies and individuals and informing them about our project, and getting them to sponsor Project Boond. I kept in constant touch with the sponsors and kept updating them on the project's progress. On the final day, I helped with the smooth functioning of the event and helped make the launch a success.

Project Boond (2021 - 2022)

For Parvaah 2022’s ‘Project Boond’ I was assigned the role of head of design. As head of design, along with my team- I was given the responsibilty to design all of the project’s social media posts. We found that brainstoring and collaborating together, definetly creates wonders, we learnt that creativity is fostered when we all work together.

Head of Design (2021 - 2022)

As the Head of Design for Parvaah’s Project Boond, I was responsible for all the creative elements for the initiative. I was also responsible for the execution for the creative concepts. Whether it was creating posts for the instagran account or designing banners poster, stickers for the club fair or pages for the school magazine, I was tasked with making multiple alternatives for each option. The duty also required me to actually print out the resources we needed.

Aarav Gandhi

President (2021 - 2022)

As the President of Parvaah 2022, I took charge of planning and executing Parvaah's 8th initiative i.e. Project Boond. My responsibilities extended to managing a team of 12 core members, effectively overlooking the sponsorship, finance, design, volunteer, tech and content teams. I also directly managed the initiative's crowdfunding page and forged partnerships with vendors to source our selected product. Finally, at the launch event, I addressed an august gathering and directly handed over 100 water wheels to rural women, helping make the ceremony a success.

Mehak Rajoria

Project Boond (2021 - 2022)

Parvaah’s 2022 Project Boond initiative saw me as the Content Head. Often emphasizing the pressing, contemporary conflicts Rural women face in our society in the time and energy it takes for them to acquire a basic necessity like water and writing about our project’s goals of combating this issue by empowering women through providing them with Water wheels, I was able to spread awareness and prompt donations of over 3 lacs.

Content Head (2021 - 2022)

I was graced with the role of Content Head for Parvaah’s latest undertaking, Project Boond. The title encompassed of everything from writing Instagram captions to the Proposals and descriptions that eventually led to the hearty collection of over 3 lacs. With the object of eradicating the preliminary challenge of an impractical water source, and aiding the lives of rural women and their families, I along with my fellow Parvaah teammates was able to accomplish the feat.

Project Bond (2021 - 2022)

I was a part of the Parvaah project BOOND sponsorship team. My role was to find sponsors for the event. My job was contacting external companies that would be generous to donate to the project. I felt I was appropriate for this role as I believe I have great persuasive and interpersonal skills, which helped me find sponsors and reach the target.

President (2021 - 2022)

As the President of Parvaah 2022, I took charge of planning and executing Parvaah's latest initiative-Project Boond. My responsibilities extended to managing a team of 12 core members, effectively overlooking the sponsorship, finance, design, volunteer, logistics and content teams. I also directly managed the initiative's social media presence from designing posts, making videos and marketing the project. Additionally, at the event launch, along with my other 2 presidents, we addressed the gathering of over 250 people as well as our renowned chief guests. We also directly handed over 100 water wheels to rural women, making the launch successful.

Head of Logistics (2021 - 2022)

I was given the opportunity to serve in the role of Head of Logistics for Parvaah's Project Boond initiative. As part of my responsibilities, I was tasked with making sure that the organization's operations and logistics ran as smoothly and effectively as possible. I was in charge of ensuring that all of the necessary steps for a successful launch were planned, coordinated, and carried out. We made sure that the resources were appropriately distributed in order to minimize the amount of wastage so that we could be efficient.

Head of Finance (2021 - 2022)

I was assigned the head of finance, which required me to appropriately allocate the funds we received and set the target for the fundraiser by what the finance team found fit to purchase the right quantity of water wheels for project boond. I was also responsible for managing the sponsorships we received through multiple sources. I also chose to incentivize the volunteers by adding thresholds to the amount they raised and awarding/recognizing them accordingly. Additionally, I created a table of perks in our proposal for potential sponsors to conveniently navigate the extent to which they wanted to make an impact.

Arjit Agarwal

Head of Logistics

I was given the role of Head of Logistics for Parvaah's initiative of 2022, Project Boond. I was tasked with ensuring that there were no hiccups or obstacles that may have hindered the progress of Project Boond. Along with my co-head, I kept tabs on the Instagram page, and website, and ensured that everything was functioning smoothly. Additionally, as Head of Logistics, I played a pivotal role in the communication of the final event. As a side role, I was tasked as the primary photographer for the final event and was in charge of capturing all key events and moments.

Rakshit Kaushik

Volunteer Head (2021 - 2022)

I was assigned the job of Volunteer Head for Parvaah’s Project Boond 2022. My role included gathering sign-up volunteering applications, screening the applications to create a team that I felt was appropriate for the project, creating a WhatsApp group for broadcasting messages, and ensuring they raised the necessary funds for our fundraiser. I also managed to assign the final project launch duties and supervise all the volunteers.

Krish Sharma

I am Krish Sharma of Grade 12 from the Jayshree Periwal International School. I have always had the desire to help the less fortunate. We don't necessarily take things for granted, but it would be foolish to not acknowledge our privilege. Today, many villagers in India don't have basic necessities, such as light, available to them. Studying in the dark, eating in the dark, without access to 24/7 electricity are things I never could imagine living through, but have recently learned is the reality for over 240 million Indians. Being my school's Cultural Head Boy, my friend - Avantika - and I have taken the initiative to give back to our community by electrifying villages. Completely.

Hi! My name is Avantika, and I’m currently studying in Grade 12 at the Jayshree Periwal International School in Jaipur, and I have a question to ask...

What do you do when the sun goes down? That’s rather obvious, you flip a switch and light floods your room. Not in several villages across India. A village in India is known as ‘electrified’ when 10% of its homes have access to electricity - what about the other 90%? Driving through villages in the country, I often see a dangerous jungle of live wires connecting homes to power. Millions of Indians do not have their homes connected to a power grid. Krish and I believe that the first step to a better and - excuse the pun - brighter future starts with a lightbulb. Help us achieve our goal!

Kush Pandey

Student. Technologist. Problem solver. Kush is a 17-year-old student studying at JPIS. A die-hard Manchester united fan, he worships football. However, his personality goes beyond books and the field. He is actively involved in community service projects in and around his city. His path intersected with Parvaahâ€™s four years ago when he volunteered for the first time. Ever since, he has been playing active roles in all Parvaah campaigns. Vocal about his ideas, Kush strives for equality in this world.

Walking on the path of creativity and passion Bhavya is a budding artist and musician who's hobby is not only his fervour but his source to express himself and reach others. This young man wins the hearts of people through his dedication to making the world a better place. His zeal for his work doesn't end here. His teaching skills and his mission to help the underprivileged is the reason he's a part of this organisation. Believing that females play a major role in the development of the world and society vinayak who is a strong supporter of gender equality believes that till females aren't given their rights and treated equal the world can't move one. With his creative skills of writing poetry and acting he always fights against different social issues. He takes initiatives in spreading awareness through his creative ideas. He serves Parvaah with a clear motive of change the society's 'nazaariya' towards these issues.

A sportsperson at heart, an artist by choice and a leader by nature, Sukriti knows how to light up a room when she walks in. An amiable, patient and gregarious person, she uses creativity and persistence in equal measures. She strives to drive collaboration amongst peers to achieve environmentally conscious and socially relevant goals.

She is a second-year undergraduate student studying at Ashoka University who is majoring in Economics and Finance. She is always looking for new ways to give back to society and has been constantly working with underprivileged children in the field of education. Conscientious and kind, she strives to leave a positive change wherever she goes. She channels her passion for social causes through Parvaah and is doing whatever she can for the betterment of society. Tarini is logical and analytical with a strong moral compass which helps her make the decision best for everyone.

Priyan Khalsa

"Kill them with success and bury them with a smile" is her motto. "Who needs weapons when one has the power of words literally at the tip of one's tongue ?" is her belief. Joining Parvaah with a single minded goal to make a change in the society comes Priyan Khalsa. She loves books, and likes debating even more. She comes to Parvaah to show the being kind and having courage are the only things needed to make a difference , to leave a mark ... Her ambition and her drive to succeed add on to this year's team of Parvaah.

He loves working for the society and puts in his efforts for protecting and preserving it. Isht Chaitkara

Environmentalist, humanitarian and an animal lover. Isht Chaitkara is an activist who is deeply concerned for the welfare of the society. He is a national chess player which indeed has sparked his creativity, made him an anxious yes a patient learner, and enhanced his skills to plan and foresee the activities for the betterment of the society. His ambition and passion to organize and work for welfare for the society is of utmost importance.

I am lucky and privileged to be leading a lifestyle where I don't lack for any basic requirements of a 21st century girl. As a good citizen, I am sympathetic towards the plight of the not-so-fortunate but, Parvaah has taught me to have empathy towards this section of society. Through Parvaah, I have moved from just feeling sorry for those people to actually empowering them to take care of themselves. I am a more enlightened being than before. And I am proud to say that it's made a better Indian too!

Apurva Kothari

Follow this less-than-perfect world through the eyes of Apurva, and you will surely dive into the unexplored, for she has a penchant for seeking the extraordinary amongst the very ordinary. Apurva can be best described using three words- thoughtful, hopeful and powerful. Not only is she always bursting with ideas, but is also available when one needs an ear to hear. Extremely passionate about protecting the environment, Arnav is keen to create awareness about waste management and finding sustainable solutions for it.

He always advocates against wastage of water or electricity, and has a strong sense of right and wrong . This has translated to him being an environment-conscious and proactive person.

Armed with artistry and a propensity for hard work, Manav Kedia always tackles obstacles creatively and in an innovative manner. Manan aims to advocate the maximum responsibility of the environment. He leaves no stone unturned in setting up and adding new initiatives to spread the cause Parvaah supports. Very diligent and dedicated towards this noble cause, he aims to evoke the concern of the environment in the minds of individuals. His professional abilities and persuasive coherences make him a perfect fit for the job. Manan is running from pillar to post to get things straight and set for the journey of Parvaah from his provinces to the outside world, beyond the horizons.
